June 2009: Victoria Forest, Kuching

This one here is a restaurant. Malam 28/6/09 yang lepas hubby bawak aku gi makan kat restaurant ni. Kalau non-local memang tak tau la tempat ni pasal die tersorok kat dalam dari jalan utama. somewhere around SMK Tun Abang Haji Openg kot? Jalan Tun Abg Hj Openg or Jalan Demak in Kuching. Not sure which one.. huhu.. I'll tell you soon enough. From Drop Box Aku & hubby memang suka restoran yang rekabentuknya exotic & tradisional. Restoran ni memang menarik. Tempatnya macam dalam hutan. In fact, their concept memang dalam hutan pon!

June 2009: Sematan

27/6/09: Keluarga hubby dah plan trip ke Sematan & Lundu. Jadik.. perjalanan aku bermula dari bandar Mukah on the 26th 6pm by bus. Aku nak tengok tapi aku malu-malu plak.. pasal kawan aku kat sebelah ni.. warak orangnye.. die berjanggut + berkopiah.. huhu.. malu pulak aku nengok pompuan tu goyang.. bikin jiwa kacau! 9.30pm: Bas singgah isi minyak dulu sebelum sampai Terminal Bas Sibu.. baru la aku tau.. nak isi minyak bas rupanya took around RM400 ikut harga pasaran semasa.. Nasib baik tak mampu beli bas… 1030pm: Bas berhenti di Sibu. Mak dan bapak aku dah tunggu pasal nak a...

Mukah..

MUKAH. Dalam bahasa Malaysia memang tak sedap la maksudnye kan.. jadik, kita tak perlulah fikir dari segi tu… Mukah is a coastal town, about 3 hours driving from Sibu and Bintulu. 10 hours driving from Kuching through Sibu. (Sorry. no shortcuts or something like that..). By air, from Kuching and Miri will take 45 minutes to 1 n 1/4 hours. cost around 90–120. No jetty, means no route through the sea or river like other places in Sarawak.

June 2008: Tanjong Balau Beach, Desaru, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru.

During my stay at JB, I managed to go to Tg Balau Beach, Desaru. From Drop Box If youre driving, than it's cheaper compared to renting a car or something. Its more expensive by taxi. I think it took 2 hours drive, plus LOST since I couldnt remember the road.. dont blame it on me?! the road look different from last time, 2005. From JB to Kota Tinggi takes 1 n 1/2 hours considering all the traffic jam on the way out of the city. Then from Kota Tinggi to Desaru approx. 40 minutes. The road might be tricky, so watch for the word Desaru, then Tg Balau on the signboard coz they will definitely help you. Not much to look at during the drive.. expect for hugeeee palm plantations.. Tg Balau is a masterpiece. Facing the South China Sea, clear water, blue sea, and not too many people like in Desaru beach. The one that im showing you in the pic is on the other side of the beach, you can ask for direction to go to the 'jetty' they call it. Or if they dont understand just tell them '...

June 2008: Tanjong Lobang Beach, Miri Sarawak

Me, mom and dad went to Bintulu (Sarawak) in June 2008. Actually it was my travel-for-work but my parents don’t want me to go by myself. Arriving around 10am, then at 2pm we were on our way back to Sibu (Sarawak, not Pulau Sibu and not even Cebu Phillipines). But at a junction with a signboard to Miri, my dad prompt a bonus question, “Anybody want to go Miri?” We’ll be there around 5pm , my mom replies, “Dont ask me, ask her” (pointing at me). Oik silap besar! Of course I said, “Let’s go!!!”. There we were, with no extra clothes, no brush and all necessary things! Sa-helai dan Sa-pinggang… There are 2 roads leading to Miri, the old one (longer and takes more time) and the new one we refer to as ‘jalan pesisir’ which is faster than the other one. So dad used the new road so that next time if I were to travel by myself for work I wont get lost.. You can go by air, either using MAS, Airasia or Maswings (if youre from Borneo Island). Im not sure about travelling by sea, never heard o...

June 2008: Puteri Pacific Hotel, Johor Bahru

Been there in June 2008. Almost missed my flight, my bad.. From Drop Box Of all cities and towns in Malaysia, i really love Kuala Terengganu, and Johor Bahru other than my hometown. Berbeza antara satu sama lain. Satu, bandar yang aman.. tenteram.. (walaupun dah mula sibuk sekarang) satu lagi, macam the wheel that spins 24hrs a day 7days a week. 4am is the only hours that you can see almost no car on the road. But at 5am, it starts all over again. Traffic jam here and there. Banyak kenangan di JB. Terlalu banyak. Pahit dan manis, kelat pun ade.. Some that I dont even want to think about it ever again. Some, I just wont let them go. Puteri Pacific Hotel, JB. Puteri which is the Malays for Princess, suits the hotel. Especially in terms of the services you get. From Drop Box My stay was a deluxe room, cost RM200+ (government rate- hotel kata ni paling murah utk gov rate, yea lleh.. utk bilik yang mahal, memang la dikira murah..). The room was somewhere in Princess Wing. Imperial Wing woul...

Oktober 2008: Pulau Pangkor

a continuation to the previous post, The Orient Star. arriving, we chartered a van as our tour bus. paying RM80 per van for 2 hours tour.. I think the taxi was highly priced, the reason that we chose to pay for the van and share. Yea.. doesnt look classy but, who cares! Haha! I don't remember the boat ticket price.. sorry! rm6 maybe.. From Drop Box There are few different views from the island; 1) towards the mainland Lumut, 2) boat making, 3) seafood processing, and 4) the Malacca Straits view. Towards Lumut View 1) To the East of the Island, towards Lumut: not my favourite.. boring view. 2) To the north of Pangkor Town, Boat Making: wow.. i've never seen anything like that. We do have that in Sibu Sarawak. But seriously its not for boat, its shipyard! 3) Also to the north of Pangkor Town, Seafood Processing: The factory of course smells like seafood.. and at the end of our tour, I spent RM163.00 for snacks and processed seafood! I end up dragging a big box with me! Suits you ...

Oktober 2008: The Orient Star Resort, Lumut, Perak

Gambar-gambar ni semua dah lama disimpan dalam laptop. Kalaulah gambar-gambar ni macam makanan, dah tumbuh kulat ngan cendawan lama dah! Nak ambik la kesempatan, disebabkan TV kat rumah pun dah rosak dekat seminggu.. Koleksi CD/DVD kat rumah pun dah abis aku tengok... (Mangsa penjajahan teknologi). This hotel isnt far away from the town. It's on the way to the TLDM Lumut camp. Ikut hala TLDM, bila lepas roundabout, baru nak naik sikit je kat bukit tu jumpa la hotel ni belah kanan.. From Drop Box Was there, at Orient Star Resort October 2008 to attend a meeting. As for the room rates, I'm not sure since everything was paid by the BIG "G" BOSS. View from the room was just nice (compared to my stay at Terengganu recently), but i...

May 2009: Gem Beach Resort, Kuala Terengganu

First of all, if you don't know where Kuala Terengganu is, you can simply GoogleEarth. I was there 17-28 May 2009. The best thing about May this year is that I travel so much that I start to think it's like a birthday present, besides it IS my birthday month! Haha!! Ni lah die kolam renang alias swimming pool.. This is the only swimming pool that Ive seen ever in my life, where people with long trousers, tshirts n head scarf jumping in.. Hehe.. Good Job Gem Beach!!! We're in Malaysia a Muslim country.. so obviously you should allow Muslimah (Muslim women and girls) jumping in the pool with their proper attire (ye lah. kalau pakai jubah pun nak masuk gak melampau la tuuuu.. man-man la wei...) The sea view was.. WOW! speechless! As you can see in the pic above, there's another blue stripe in the pic after the pool. That's the sea. The South China Sea. That's one of our friend from the course. Look at the view.. *Sigh.. Definitely not safe to swim here. ...

May 2009: Cyberjaya

Kali terakhir ke Cyberjaya dulu zaman-zaman muda masa masih undergrads...When i get the chance to attend a course in Cyberjaya, I was thrilled somehow.. It's like going to Putrajaya, a well-planned and confusing road scheme. And feel like somewhere not in Malaysia. Obviously, you saw big and tall building everywhere in center of Putrajaya. Not to mention the Alamanda Shopping Complex. Cyberjaya also gave me the same feeling, not in Malaysia. Ada bangunan Ericcson, Motorola.. Another sight that you almost cannot see, is 'lepaking' people. Not anywhere to be seen in Cyberjaya. And you see very few people waiting for bus at the bus stop. I think Cyberjaya means strictly business.. Luckily I'm here in Mukah Sarawak.. A place with no traffic light, no traffic jam. No rushing to work / home.

May 2009: Dormani Hotel, Kuching

Ill start my blog with this entry about a Hotel in Kuching Sarawak. Soon, when i travel again I'll post more about another hotel too.. 1. The Name Reflects Your Identity When i first saw it's name.. puzzled. In Malay they sound weird.. A coursemate (I was in Kuching to attend a course in early May 09) ask me... _______________________________________________ friend: "where's the provided hotel?" (urusetia yang sediakan..) me: "uh? the hotel? its Dorm-Ani..". (Ani's Dorm) _______________________________________________ then she start to laugh.. Well, people.. Moral of the story: "When i have children soon, I'll try to give them meaningful names.. not weird ones.." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2. The Location Situated in the heart of Kuching C...
