June 2008: Tanjong Lobang Beach, Miri Sarawak

Me, mom and dad went to Bintulu (Sarawak) in June 2008. Actually it was my travel-for-work but my parents don’t want me to go by myself. Arriving around 10am, then at 2pm we were on our way back to Sibu (Sarawak, not Pulau Sibu and not even Cebu Phillipines). But at a junction with a signboard to Miri, my dad prompt a bonus question, “Anybody want to go Miri?” We’ll be there around 5pm , my mom replies, “Dont ask me, ask her” (pointing at me). Oik silap besar! Of course I said, “Let’s go!!!”. There we were, with no extra clothes, no brush and all necessary things! Sa-helai dan Sa-pinggang…
There are 2 roads leading to Miri, the old one (longer and takes more time) and the new one we refer to as ‘jalan pesisir’ which is faster than the other one. So dad used the new road so that next time if I were to travel by myself for work I wont get lost..
You can go by air, either using MAS, Airasia or Maswings (if youre from Borneo Island). Im not sure about travelling by sea, never heard of it..
On our way, my parents decided to go to Kuala Sibuti, I was raised here until 2 years old. I can’t remember anything about the place.

After 3hours, we arrived and went straight to a hotel. The Dynasty Hotel. For RM170+- we get a very good room. My dad, terus menyampaikan hajat yang dah lama terpendam.. iaitu, melabur amanah saham after a few ammonium-based ‘blasts’ at us. Located not far from the Pujut Highway, a few minutes drive to Shopping Complex and about 15 minutes to the Tanjong Lobang Beach.
We managed to go to the beach that evening to watch the sunset..

What can you expect to see in Miri?
In the city itself, of course Shopping Complex. Kalau aku, yang ni kurang minat la kot.. Sebab boleh jumpa kat mana-mana. Selain dari tu, Tg Lobang Beach. My fav spot is the jetty. Again.. Here you can see para-gliding.
Me hubby prefer exploring Miri. Go to Lutong, the oil town. You can see the old hospital site, or Petronas area. Or go to Pujut, find the biggest shopping complex in Miri (i think) the e-mart. Or go few miles further, to the Asian Bridge. The one that you have to cross if you want to go to Brunei.
Read another entry soon, about our (me n hubby) trip to Miri for honeymoon.

PNB Darby Park at the heart of Kuala Lumpur

As prestigous as it sounds, this is an absolute exclusive place for executives. I was honored for the chance given by my G-boss to have a 5 day stay, dont even have to pay a single cent for anything. From Drop Box Situated 10 minutes walking distance from the well known twin tower KLCC, 2 minutes away from the Putra Station & from Nikko Hotel, and 5 minutes walk to Masjid as-Syakirin KLCC. a suite cost RM1300++ per night. with 3 bedrooms, 2 balcony, living room, 3 toilets, kitchen (wet & dry), tv in all rooms, and tv set + videoplayer (maybe cd + karaoke enabled). as for food, sarapan pagi + makan malam di ground floor's restaurant, The PNB Darby Cafe. In its website it says : "myriad of local and international menu" is very true. Its a small cafe but yet offers so many types of food and drinks. The city view from here, not so lovely. Well, busy road with cars .. what do u expect? but for lunch, u have to follow the dress code. means.. no jeans.. no t-shirt.. and ...
