planning for trips..

helo again!

me, just love putting on my thinking caps i guess... planning is one of my best known management capabilities (if others dont recognize, well at least to myself, yes.. hihi)..

my cousin is getting married coming November in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. We're 1st cousin, our dad's are siblings and my dad is the eldest. I've been quite fond of this cousin since I was still an undergrad. I spend most of my Raya and semester holiday with them. It's like my 2nd home. So I am planning to go to her wedding day, specifically the "walimatulurus" or the reception (i think thats the right word, correct me if im wrong..). Im just this kind of person who love killing 2 birds with 1 stone.. So, I am planning for a 1 week vacation with husband and our coming baby.

I planned to take them to Kuala Terengganu, and Johor Bahru. My husband said, his mom and dad will be going too since they have never been there. Well, the more the merrier!! So there will be 5 of us. Then I call my mum if she and dad like to come along too (of course on their own expenses.. hehehe...) and mom said, of course! And she'd like to go sightseeing Singapore too! Oh well why not! It's just right across the Tambak Johor! So there will be 7 of us, a car wont fit us all in.. An MPV would be good.. Last night my dear husband said maybe his younger sister will join us too, then there will be 8 of us!! Hahaha! This is fun!

Who knows if my ways fit u too. So here goes:

How do i plan my trip? I ask these questions:
  1. Where are we going?
  2. What kind of place is it?
  3. Places of interest?
  4. How big is the place?
  5. Should we rent a car or should we use public transport?
  6. How many days at one place?
  7. Airplane ticket cost?
  8. Cost for food, car rent, shopping and so on?
  9. Where to stay?
  10. How long will it take overall?
Of course there's more question to ask. And I surf A LOT to find information! I read magazines too and check my travelling books and magazine. (I keep travel guide, magazines and maps of places, got them from the airport when I used to travel a lot.. They are useful at times like these, see!)

I have priorities too since I am not that well off when its about MYR..
I always make sure that:
  1. We get the cheapest but safest place to stay (that includes hotel, motel, inn, homestays, etc)
  2. Places to stay are near to food stalls (so we can get local food at the best price)
  3. Nearest access to bank, groceries shop(sometimes you should just eat instant noodle to save MYR more.. hehe)
  4. If we're going to places far from our hotel than I must get a car, the cheapest one!

Well, i think that's all. Maybe there's more but I just can't think of any right now.. Got to go grab some food before my baby starts giving me forceful commands with extra foot flavor to my ribs, demanding for food..

Pic blogging?

Dah lama la sangat tak post apa2. Bersawang dah blog. Tu yg blog pun mcm rumah puaka tak de penghuni.. masuk keluar masuk keluar tak update apa2 pun... Jadi aku buat keputusan nak buat mcm micro-blogging.. tapi pakai gambar dan sedikit caption.. Ini dia gambar pertama. .............. Terkejut tadi tengok apa benda yg melekat kat cermin penumpang belah belakang kereta. Bila tgk dalam, rupanya anak aku punya kerja. Semalam dpt sticker, dia bantai lekat kat dlm kereta.. tergelak sorang bila teringat. Anak aku yg sorang je tu dah 4thn umurnya. Dah dihantar ke sekolah supaya dia ada kawan bermain.. maklumlah.. anak sorang.. belum ada rezeki anak lagi satu...

June 2008: Tanjong Balau Beach, Desaru, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru.

During my stay at JB, I managed to go to Tg Balau Beach, Desaru. From Drop Box If youre driving, than it's cheaper compared to renting a car or something. Its more expensive by taxi. I think it took 2 hours drive, plus LOST since I couldnt remember the road.. dont blame it on me?! the road look different from last time, 2005. From JB to Kota Tinggi takes 1 n 1/2 hours considering all the traffic jam on the way out of the city. Then from Kota Tinggi to Desaru approx. 40 minutes. The road might be tricky, so watch for the word Desaru, then Tg Balau on the signboard coz they will definitely help you. Not much to look at during the drive.. expect for hugeeee palm plantations.. Tg Balau is a masterpiece. Facing the South China Sea, clear water, blue sea, and not too many people like in Desaru beach. The one that im showing you in the pic is on the other side of the beach, you can ask for direction to go to the 'jetty' they call it. Or if they dont understand just tell them '...
