Trip to Sabah Day 1

May 3oth, Sunday.

this is my travel entry of my trip to sabah (west coast area only) with hubby. i might, or might not be able to update this entry daily. depends on my schedule & the phone signal.. so just enjoy..

My trip actually starts last Friday (May 28th) from Mukah Sarawak, and hubby's was yesterday (May 29th) from Kuching Sarawak.

This morning (May 30th), our trip starts at 5.30am. My dad bought us tickets of 'Sungei Merah' bus, costs RM50 per head for a one way trip Sibu-Miri. The bus was suppose to be a new bus, but dad was surprised to see.. its actually an old bus. My dad put it this way, "This WAS a new bus..". I looked at him and said, "Yes, it WAS a new bus, but now its old!" Hahaha! A 5-am joke! The company shouldnt 'lie' to their customers by saying its a new bus when the bus could be any! The 'broker' said, they changed the new bus schedule. (I could have said, what the heck! so what if u changed the schedule! i want a new bus!) . The reason why i insist for new bus is that i cant stand the smell of old buses! it could give me nausea! Tried to be positive, so we just hop in and wait for the bus to depart. 5 minutes departing, me and hubby laughed out (not loudly). Wonder why? The bus have this 'vibrating feel'. hubby called it vibrating. actually the bus shakes real hard from time to time. which is why hubby said 'bas tok vibrate!' (this bus is vibrating!). Whenever we're awake, we smile and laugh everytime the bus shakes uncontrollably... Im nervous everytime it shakes, something for sure, the bus is NOT SAFE for a long journey..

At approximately 730am the bus stop at its first rest-stop, Selangau (very small town in between Sibu, Bintulu and Mukah.

Then another stop at 9am in Bintulu (the oil town).

Another stop at Batu Niah (between Bintulu and Miri, and not far from the popular Niah Cave) around 11am.

These buses came from Brunei, I'm always interested when they're around. But these two bus have something that Sarawak's and Sabah's bus dont have. Look carefully at the 2nd picture.

At 1pm, arrived at Pujut Bus Terminal (Miri Bus Terminal-i'm not sure about how many bus terminals in Miri)

We went straight to hotel, hitching a Myvi (national car) for RM12. I always set a rule when it comes to renting a hotel room.
  1. It must be safe,
  2. in the middle of a town if possible
  3. it must be really cheap
  4. place to eat are very near
So I chose Million Inn. Not far from Mega Hotel. There are cheaper hotel around but I'm not quite confident about its safety. This hotel is in surrounded by gates so I think its safer. If you drive here, you can just park your car in front of the hotel. Their staff will take good care of your car.

Our room is on the ground floor. Double twin bed. RM58 per nite. Imperial Mall is 10 mins walk from here. Or shop. But i think its cheaper to shop in Sibu/Kuching. Place to hang out (lepak) is just around the corner.

It's 8pm now, we're going out again later on to' lepak' and grab some burger.. ;)

Our journey will continue tomorrow morning at 9am to Miri Airport..

I'll take more pictures starting tomorrow.

PNB Darby Park at the heart of Kuala Lumpur

As prestigous as it sounds, this is an absolute exclusive place for executives. I was honored for the chance given by my G-boss to have a 5 day stay, dont even have to pay a single cent for anything. From Drop Box Situated 10 minutes walking distance from the well known twin tower KLCC, 2 minutes away from the Putra Station & from Nikko Hotel, and 5 minutes walk to Masjid as-Syakirin KLCC. a suite cost RM1300++ per night. with 3 bedrooms, 2 balcony, living room, 3 toilets, kitchen (wet & dry), tv in all rooms, and tv set + videoplayer (maybe cd + karaoke enabled). as for food, sarapan pagi + makan malam di ground floor's restaurant, The PNB Darby Cafe. In its website it says : "myriad of local and international menu" is very true. Its a small cafe but yet offers so many types of food and drinks. The city view from here, not so lovely. Well, busy road with cars .. what do u expect? but for lunch, u have to follow the dress code. means.. no jeans.. no t-shirt.. and

Day 6: 4/6/2010 This entry is written Dec5,2010. Ive totally forgotten to complete this Sabah Holiday entries.. So here goes. Our 6th day of holiday, I planned to spend the whole day in Kota Kinabalu City ONLY. After breakfast, we went for window shopping. I noticed this poor person is sitting on a building looking beyond the South China Sea.. poor thing..  zoomed out.. 1st destination is: Plaza Warisan @ Warisan Square Right outside the building is Starbucks.  This is the first time my husband and me hang out at Starbucks. Not the first time for me though, living in Kuala Lumpur & Selangor for over 7 years its impossible not try out this kind of outlet.. Hehehe.. 2 years of marriage, he never wanted to come to this place for a cup of coffee. "Not worth it", he said.  2nd destination: Asia City.   Bought my herbalife stock. Then off to next destination. 3rd destination: Wisma Merdeka Lunch at Restoran Seri Malindo The best restaurant around, recommended by d
